Happy Birthday Jacob!
Well my baby boy is offically four years old. Time really flies by too fast, and our kids really grow up too fast. I have made a montage of Jacob over the last four years. I have to warn all of you though it is quite lengthy, it's over five minutes. But I'm sure you'll enjoy every second of it. I put a lot of time into it and really should've started working on it before Jacob's birthday but it's finally done.
Hope everyone had a Great Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas and Jacob had a wonderful birthday as well. There's a few pictures in the montage from Christmas, at some point I will try and add more Christmas pics. We had Jacob's four year pics done yesterday at The Picture People they came out fantastic he looks like such a little man. My baby is a big boy now. Hope everyone enjoys........

Presents Under the Tree
I don't know about you all but I've never not had presents under the Christmas tree this close to Christmas. In the fourteen years that Joe and I have been together we have never not had presents under the tree with only 5 days left till Christmas. Even in the last four years with kids we've never been this late. Well I'm glad to say that finally last night we put a few presents under the tree. None of the presents are from us. We received our package from Grandma/Grandpa, my Mom and Dad last night so we put those presents under the tree. We also had our dinner at our friends in Sterling last night. You know the one that was catered from Outback Steakhouse for our team raising the most money at the Reston Light the Night Walk . So we came home with a couple gifts from Nancy for the kids. The dinner was great by the way and it was a nice time for visiting with friends. Also today when we got home from a short trip out we had a package on the step from Joe's sister and family. So the tree is finally starting to look like it's almost Christmas. How's everyone else doing with the whole present wrapping thing? I haven't wrapped anything for the kids or Joe the only gifts I've wrapped are for presents I had to get in the mail and I didn't do that until yesterday. Hope every one's having fun getting ready for Christmas.

NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS MOVIE PREMIERE
That's where Joe and I were Monday night in D.C at The Uptown Theatre. Before we went to the movie we ate dinner at The Cheesecake Factory just a few miles up the road from the theatre. The CCF is one of our favorite places to eat and we really don't get to eat there as often as we used to since we don't live as close anymore. After dinner we hopped on the Metro and rode it three stations down to the Theatre. We don't really get to the movies too often especially without the kiddos. The last movie we saw was the Harry Potter movie that came out over the summer. But the movie that we saw before that without any kids was "ELF" with Will Ferrell, I believe I was pregnant with Jacob then. This was also the first time Joe and I went to any movie where there was free popcorn, soda and water. It was great all the popcorn, water and soda we wanted, we were like kids he,he! One other cool thing was that one of the Executive Vice Presidents for Disney was there at this screening. He did a little speech before the movie along with the Librarian of Congress but I have since forgotten the VP's name, opps! As for the movie it was great if you haven't seen the first one watch it first. It's not totally necessary but it doesn't hurt to watch it. Joe and I watched #1 for a refresher on Saturday evening. All in all we had a really great date night together, one that was well deserved. After we left the movie and hopped back on the metro we made a quick stop at the Cheesecake Factory for some dessert to eat on the way home. My favorite cheese cake is The Chocolate Tuxedo Cheesecake and no at this price I did not get the whole thing. I had a slice of that one and Joe had a slice of Craig's Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake, he always likes to try a different one, I like to stick with my favorite.

Allergic Reaction........
*Updated (on Bottom)*
Allergic reaction yes, that's right an allergic reaction for Mommy. Someone who has never in my life as long as I can remember had an allergic reaction to anything. Last night my arms started itching a little while Joe and I were at the movies. I itched them and that was that they didn't bother me anymore. This morning I woke up to my arms itching like crazy, then my legs and then my stomach and so on. My whole body itches...I called my Dr. and they had no openings so they suggested I go to Urgent Care. So off I went. The Dr. there told me there was really no way to know what my reaction was to but gave me a steroid shot and a prescription for more steroids. By process of elimination Joe and I decided it had to be the new perfume I tried at the mall yesterday. Since I sprayed it on my arms first and that's where the rash started. So I've had my shot and taken one pill and I'm still itching like crazy but trying to ignore it. I am going to try and go to work and just ignore it some more we'll see if I can make it through the night.
I know that everyone was probably expecting my next post to be about Jacob's Birthday Party and I promise that post is coming soon. I also have to post about the fantastic date and movie premiere Joe and I went to last night. Hope everyone is doing better than I am until later....
Okay so I made it through the night at work but, barely. I could not do my usual job of CSM you know standing around waiting for someone to need me or sometimes running around from one end of the store to the next. This was just not good for me the more I stood the more I itched. So after I decided this I made yet another trip over to the pharmacy to talk to the pharmacist yet again. First he asked me how I was doing I said not so good still itching REALLY BAD! He said have you taken a pill yet? Why yes I have and still no relief. I then said is there anything else I can take or put on this crap to help it? And he unfortunately Jamie since the steroid shot and pills have not given you any relief it's very unlikely that any OTC cream will do anything for you but you're more than welcome to try. So I opted not to waste my money on something that was probably not going to work. I decided that the best thing for me to do was to stay so busy that I wouldn't notice that my skin was itching like crazy, so I got on a register and cashiered for the entire night except for my break time. Let me tell you it was great while I was on that register but that little bit of time that I was off the register was complete torture. But enough about that I have a Dr. appointment with a dermatologist on Thursday am I was thinking of cancelling it earlier today but after tonight no way. I have now at this point and time taken TWO pills plus the shot and two showers, one with some anti itch oil crap and still NO Relief. So if ANYONE out there has any suggestions I'll take them. Thanks so much!

Proof that she really does talk
I know most of you think that my baby girl is this shy little girl who just smiles all the time.Well I'm here to tell ya she really does talk and Daddy got me some proof to show all of you. Please take note of the wonderful Narrator/word prompter, Daddy. First I am going to warn you it is a little long almost 2 minutes. But it is so worth watching the whole thing cause Jenna is just too cute.Secondly the quality isn't the greatest cause we had to reduce the size for One True Media. I hope everyone enjoys this little video of Jenna.Hopefully, everyone in the family will get a look at the video. I know that it won't be long before Jenna will officially be named Magpie#3 from my Grandma and Grandpa. A little history if you will....When I was about 9 years old I spent what was supposed to be two weeks with my grandparents and my aunt who is five years older than me. The two weeks turned into two months of the summer. Well by the end of the summer I had talked so much that my grandparents nick named me Magpie. Then along came my cousin Ashlee who is now 15 and she has been named Magpie#2. So it's only fitting that my baby girl be named Magpie#3 and from the looks of where she's at now she's going to be quite the talker just like her Mommy. So here you go enjoy..................

Busy,Busy Times........
Wow, what a week we've had so far. And it's only Tuesday, well technically by the time I finish this post it will be Wednesday. The week has started out like any other week nice and normal. I'm going to warn all of you about to read this I tend to go on and on sometimes and this is probably going to be a long and not so interesting post:)
Saturday Joe, myself, and the kids just hung out the house most of the day. Saturday evening Nana watched the kids for Joe and I and we went out to dinner to one of our favorite places to eat here in town Sansui, and then we did a little Christmas shopping and grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. We had a lovely dinner, it was nice to have some alone time. Now on to Sunday....Well I woke up at 3:00am with one of the worst migraine headaches ever. I made a trip to the bathroom and spent some quality time with the toilet if you get my drift. Back to bed only to wake up from my alarm at 7:15am. I got out of bed only long enough to call in to work and tell them I would not be coming in, my head was still killing me. So back to sleep, sleeping is usually the best thing for me when I have a migraine. I slept until Noon, yep Noon only to wake up with still a bit of my headache there. Daddy and Jacob were baking some yummy cookies when I came downstairs. I think I spent most of the day on the couch trying not to move to much and eventually that evening my headache finally went away. This is good right?
Onto Monday I had to wake up just a little earlier than usual to take Nana to the airport. Upon my first trip to the bathroom that morning I found myself in some of the worst pain I have felt. Long story short, take Nana to the airport, come home sit down to lunch with the kids and then back into the car and off to the Dr's for Mommy. So I have a pretty bad(as the Dr put it) Urinary track infection, YUCK! So off to Wal-Mart to get my prescription filled, oh and to tell them yet again I will not be coming to work. Count um that's two days now this week that I've missed for different illnesses.
Now onto Tuesday with hopes that my antibiotics have started to kick in, I wake up to my poor baby boy having a horrible bark and asking me for water. I was supposed to have a Dr's appointment today but I didn't want to take Jacob out with this cough so I rescheduled for Friday. Jacob has had medicine all day, we don't want a sick birthday boy for his party on Saturday. I barely know that its Tuesday I am totally off on my days since I missed two days of work.
Now for the rest of the week there's at least one thing going on everyday. Wednesday Jacob has his weekly speech therapy, then Mommy has a meeting at work.Thursday I have another Dr's appointment. Let's see Friday we have our bi-weekly play date at one of the neighbors and then yes another Dr's appointment. Really for those of you counting I am okay just routine things at the Dr's. Oh and yes and some time in between all of this I am supposed to finish my Christmas shopping for our family that we have to send packages to. Oh and let's not forget at some point I also have to clean the house since we're having Jacob's Scooby Doo birthday party at the house on Saturday. Jacob is so very excited for his party everyday he asks me, my birthday mama? So there it is our busy busy week, yikes! But on another note Joe took the cutest video of Jenna just talking away. I'm going to try and post it one other day this week. I hope everyone else is not having as crazy of a week as us.

My Princess is 18 Months Old.....
Yep you read that right my baby girl is 18 months old as of yesterday Dec 5th. Can you believe it? I sure can't. Time just flies by way to fast especially when they're this young. It seems like it wasn't that long ago that we were celebrating Jenna's First Birthday. Where does time go? So on to the all important statistics of my growing girl. Her weight is 18lbs and12oz. For those of you keeping track that's a weight gain of 1lb 4oz from her last check up at 15 months. Jenna is still in the negative side of the percentile chart. But as the Dr said before she's still growing and she's on her own little curve just below the curve of the regular scale. We're still gonna have to wait little while longer before we can turn her car seat around. I am hoping that if she keeps growing at this rate she will be 20lbs by March and then she'll be sitting forward like her big brother. She is now a tall 30 1/2 inches that's a growth of 1/2 inch from her last checkup. Today for the very first time ever our pediatrician who I love (none of the other Dr's in our practice, have ever done this) said if she had to guess Jenna's height she would guess that she's going to be around 5' 3" or 5'4". So she's gonna be taller than Mommy. How about that? Not by much, but if she's right she said she thinks she's definitely gonna be taller than me. That really doesn't surprise me though because I am the shortest one in my family (Mom,Dad, and Brother). Our Dr has been saying all along that she was going to be petite like Mommy. Jenna had to have 3 shots today my poor baby. Two normal ones for 18 months and the third one was her Flu shot.
We also decided to have Jacob get his Flu shot today. It was really pretty sad because this was the first time he had a shot where he really was aware that it was coming. Today was also his first shot in his arm. Mommy held onto him tight and he only cried for a second when it went in. Sorry that I changed the subject from Jenna so quickly but, do you all realize that Christmas is just 19 days away? Do you realize what else that means? My baby boy is going to be FOUR in just 19 days. Like I said before where does time go? Tomorrow is Friday and I'm off Yes! Happy Friday everyone!

It's Snowing!!!
Well the weather man was finally right for once when he predicted snow. I don't know how long it will snow for or how much we will actually get but we are getting our first snow of the season. I am enjoying just being able to stay in the house and watching it snow from the inside. Jacob was supposed to have his weekly speech today but the school's on early dismissal so I've opted not to take both the kids out in this cold weather. What I have attempted to do today however is take some pictures of the kids for our Christmas cards that I should have started at least a week ago. And I have to say I'm having just about as much luck as K over at The Abel Boys. What a chore it has been, Jacob is being such a good big brother is sitting patiently waiting for Jenna to cooperate for Mommy. Wait till everyone sees what a big boy my Jacob looks like in his cute little outfit Mommy picked out for their pictures. And well Jenna just looks like my little princess as usual, but a non cooperative one. Hope everyone is staying warm and cozy and enjoying this weather from the inside.

A Visit With Santa.......
On this past Friday Daddy and I decided to take the kids to the Dulles Town Center mall to get the kids picture taken with Santa. Yes there are no smiles but at least there no screaming children either. Most of you know we did not get a picture of Santa last year with the kids together. As Jacob sat for one picture and only one picture of Santa and he was by himself. Yes we did visit several Santa's I think I lost count at about 10 visits. Needless to say I am very happy that we got a picture of both of them on Santa's lap together. Jenna wasn't really sure and kept looking at Santa's beard but she looked at the camera long enough to get this picture snapped.
And then there was conversation...
After the picture taking was done Santa said to Jacob "Jacob, have you been a good boy this year?"and Jacob quietly replied with a yes. Then Santa said "Well Jacob what would you like Santa to bring you this year?" Jacob then said "A Match Box shark and a Match Box Octopus" Then Santa said "Is there anything else you would like?" and Jacob said "No just those two things."It really was the cutest this is the first year that Jacob has told Santa what he wants for Christmas. These two things are toys that he's been looking at every time we go into a Target or a Wal-Mart. After they were done Santa said to Jacob "What does your sister Jenna want for Christmas?" And almost at the same time they both said a baby. It was just too cute to hear them both say Jenna wanted a baby. Then before leaving Santa told Jacob that he had to be a GOOD boy for the next three weeks if he wanted Santa to bring those two toys. He also told Jacob that he would need to be a good big brother for the next three weeks. My baby is getting to be such a BIG boy in just 22 days he's going to be 4 years old.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and is getting the rest of their decorating done.Oh and of course your Christmas shopping done too. I am done decorating but not nearly done Christmas shopping. I am happy to say though I did get out and buy some of the party supplies for Jacob's up and coming party. I also did get the invites in the mail so hopefully I've given everyone enough notice. Jacob is soooooo excited about his Scooby Doo birthday party. Every morning when we wake up he asks me if it's his birthday yet. He's just too cute!
