My Super Star!
We are at just over a week of little Miss Jenna doing her business on the potty. I must be honest with everyone I was at a point where I was convinced she was never going to be ready. Especially by our WDW trip, it really isn't that big of a deal. She just wouldn't be able to participate in the "big girl" activities like Aloha Luau, Clarabelle's Moo Juice, Do-Si-Do with Snow White, Little Einsteins Adventure, Mouseketeers in Training, Nemo's Coral Reef Adventure, or Welcome to Wonderland just to name a few. These are some of the activities for three and four year old's that she will be able to participate in on the cruise section of our vacation. She will be less than one month from her third birthday so she will be able to take part in these activities only if she is potty trained. So you can understand why I was so worried. I think we can safely say we will be okay come May. What's even better is I know that she'll be able to be in the three year old class come next year for preschool, she has to be potty trained for that class too.
Last Thursday one of her teachers at pick up asked me if we were trying to potty train at home. I then told her we were trying but with absolutely no success. She then proceeded to tell me that Jenna sat on the toilet twice that day but no pee. She also told Jenna that if she goes pee pee on the potty she gets a special potty stamp. Jenna apparently was quite taken by this little bit of information. Joe and I had tried just about everything to try and get her to go. Later that afternoon when we got home from Jacob's therapy, she said she had to go potty and not in her Pull-Up. We went in to the bathroom and there rest is pretty much history. Since last Thursday we have had maybe two accidents. I think that's pretty darn good. We have went pee pee on the potty at a friend's house, Jacob's other school, the mall and Target. She is very good about telling us when she has to go. We've only pooped twice on the potty and this did take a little more time to start. She refuses to wear her Pull-ups anymore except for at night when we go to sleep. She wants to wear her princess panties, or sometimes it's her Dora panties. She tells us that she will not go in her panties because "Jasmine" (the princess on her panties) would not like it. It really is too funny how she is. Every morning we have woken up with a dry Pull-Up with the exception of Thursday morning as she was not feeling well.
Keep your fingers crossed for us that she continues to want to go on the potty. She cannot wait to go to school and go on the potty at school. It goes without saying we have been rather busy running back and forth to the bathroom, but it's a good busy.
