Yay, John!

Yesterday we attended the High School graduation of our Nephew John. It was a very lovely ceremony. We could not be more proud of him. We have watched him grow into a fine man. I have so many memories of John growing up. I still can't believe he's 18 and now a High School graduate. Here's some pictures from his day yesterday..........

CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!
Class of 2009

I am having problems uploading my pictures right now. I don't know if it's Blogger or this slow connection we have. I will try again tomorrow.

****Up next I promise will be pictures from our WDW trip. Then more pictures from our current trip (Indiana).

A Shout Out and Visitors...

Just wanted to give a shout out to our friend and neighbor who just recently gave birth to her third little boy. Welcome to the world Cason. He was born on Tuesday June 24th weighing 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches long. Loving you in your pictures, and we can't wait to meet you in person little guy.

Can you believe it's July? I sure can't. I am super excited for tomorrow (well really like 11 hours from now) because we will be heading to the airport to pick up our visitors. Nana is coming home but she's bringing two very special visitors to our house, our niece Alyssa and our nephew John. It hasn't been very long since we saw them both, like only a week ago, but it has been a while since they've been to our house. I told Alyssa last week that Fourth of July just wouldn't be the same without her, as she has spent the last three with us. The kids are super excited too. I just might be a little more excited than them though. It's great to have family around. And well as we all know time really flies and our kids grow up so fast. Alyssa is now 12 and John is 17. I can still remember when they both were Jacob and Jenna' s age. John will be Senior in High School this year and will being going off to college next year, Yikes! And Alyssa is going into the 7th grade. Jacob and Jenna love hanging out with their cousins. Hopefully we'll have lots of fun and some pictures to share from their visit.

Out with the Old and In with the NEW....

Car that is,this is the goodbye pic of me and my Pilot. I must admit all of this happened very quickly.Much more quickly than I expected and maybe for Joe too. The lease on my Pilot was due to end in October so we were thinking about our options. Joe and I discussed the idea of the new Pilot that was coming out at the end of the year. Now that Jacob's in the third row things are a little more difficult when it comes to getting him in the car. He can't quite buckle himself in yet so I have to climb into the back to buckle him in. This is not the most comfortable thing to do.Joe tossed out the idea of the new Odyssey,I told him I wasn't sure about a mini van but it is a Honda after all.I told him that I would like to test drive one and then we would see. On Friday I test drove one at the Leesburg Honda and well I LOVED it. Before that Joe had brought home a brochure for me to look at and I really liked all the cool options the Odyssey Touring model has. I was much more interested in the car after reading about these options. I know that I've already turned this into a long story so I'll try not to drag it on. Joe had emailed several dealerships about what model and color we were interested in and we got back many responses. The dealership we ended up going to was in Rockville Maryland and they offered us the best deal. This is where we ended up trading in my car and leasing our new Odyssey and here she is..............................

Isn't she pretty? The car of course not me.

Finally Forward.....

Forward facing in her car seat that is.My Jenna finally hit the big 20lb mark last weekend so we turned her car seat around, yeah.I know can you believe it my little petite thing, it only took her to 21 and 1/2 months to get there. She is so very excited to be forward facing.Every time we put her in her seat now she does her little let me get comfortable shaky, shaky thing it really is adorable. She's also grinning from ear to ear. Almost every time we get in the car she also takes her shoes off. Does anyone else's toddler do this? Jacob never took his shoes off when we got in the car.But then again there's a lot of things that Jenna does so differently than Jacob. I am so glad to share this fun news with everyone.

Hope everyone is getting ready for Easter and the Easter bunny to come on. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the weather isn't to terribly cold on Sunday.Come on spring.Until next time....Oh and let me not forget....

Happy Spring!!

Late Breaking News......

Some exciting news for Joe and I. But for most of our readers this is not new, news. I still think however that it is Blog worthy news. Most of you also know that it has only been on a very rare occasion that we have been away from the kids overnight. On our 5 year wedding anniversary we went on a cruise, this was our first time away from Jacob and he was only 9 months old. This was VERY hard for me emotionally and physically. But that stories for another day and another post. And of course when Jenna was born we stayed at the hospital with her and we we're then away from Jacob for only the second time.Okay getting back to the story at hand. I first must say we have WONDERFUL friends!! With that being said friends of ours, another couple of course has a timeshare and well this year they are getting a two bedroom. So they so kindly invited us to come along with them on their vacation. We so graciously accepted and have since bought our plane tickets. Coaxed Nana into watching the kids for us for 6 and 1/2 days. And we've now started to plan our activities for our little trip with our friends. And so here it is ........

Countdown Calendars

Yep, you read that right we are going to Kauai,Hawaii and we are so excited.Yes of course we are sad and nervous at the same time about leaving the kids. But this is a vacation that we need and quite honestly I think that we both thought we'd never get to go back to Hawaii. This is also a vacation that we so deserve. And also how many opportunities does one get to go to Hawaii and not have to pay for your room? I don't think this is something that very common, but hey I could be wrong.
For those of you who don't know this we went on our honeymoon to Hawaii, we went to the big island and stayed in Kona. That was a wonderful trip we had a great time but getting there was a little bit of a different story. This was when Joe still worked for United and we had to fly standby. Yeah fun, right? No, we spent most of our first day of our honeymoon in the San Francisco airport trying to get on a flight. But it all turned out good for us our hotel was very accommodating since we got there a day later. This time we have confirmed seats, yeah! We had a fabulous time and are looking forward to another fabulous time. We've already got a boat trip planned for one day and a Kayaking trip planned (a first for me!) for another day and of course a Luau one night and a driving trip another day. The trip seems like it's so far away yet we've already got almost the whole week planned. Which is really weird for us cause we're not usually planners, we just do things. But there's so much we want to do this time we thought it was best to plan as much as we could. Will keep you posted as we get closer to our trip. Yeah!
