More Cupcakes!

Yesterday, Joe decided he would stop by Hello Cupcakes on the way home for me as on Thursdays they have a few flavors I was interested in. When he arrived there we (I was on the phone) discovered that Hello Cupcakes is apparently not open yet. It says on their website opening Summer 2008, and I know that somewhere on the web I read it was open. Anyway it's not. So Joe decided to venture over to Baked and Wired as we were both now in the mood for some good cupcakes. Now let me first say that Baked and Wired does not just sell cupcakes, they sell a variety of baked goods. They are more expensive than Georgetown Cupcakes, but the cupcakes are also much larger than GT. They are also a much better cupcake. Not only are they bigger but the cake was definitely more moist. The frosting was not cream cheese at least on the cupcakes I tried. When Joe got there he said that the woman behind the counter said they usually have more flavors but had sold out of a lot of them for that day. He got two of their strawberry cupcakes, a carrot cake cupcake and three chocolate cupcakes. I tried a bite of both the carrot cake cupcake and the strawberry cupcake. The carrot cake one was pretty good. I'm not really a carrot cake person but Joe enjoyed it. The strawberry one was pretty good. I enjoyed the cake it was white with strawberries in it. The frosting was a strawberry butter creme. It was a little sweet, so I could only eat so much of it. The chocolate cupcake was also really good and the frosting was a vanilla butter creme. Jenna really enjoyed this frosting and she even ate a little bit of cake, too. I have one more chocolate cupcake to eat and I think I'll have it after lunch today. Have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend.

Yummy,Yummy.........

Yes we traveled a little again but for good reason. For these YUMMY doughnuts. This is our third time having these doughnuts. Our first time experiencing these yummy concoction's was last year when we went to Ocean City. They have a lot of locations in Md,and so far only one in Va,and lots more popping up all over the place. The Fractured Prune started in Ocean City you can read all about them at their website. They basically are a doughnut shoppe where you create your own doughnut and they make them. All the doughnuts are always served hot, yummy. In addition to you creating your own doughnuts they have featured flavors, speciality doughnuts they call them. I haven't tried a lot of these but the ones I have tried have been very good. This time I got to pick out four of the six doughnuts. Two were chocolate glazes with rainbow sprinkles (b/c I love this kind of doughnut and just in case the kids decided they wanted some.),One was a French Toast doughnut, one was a Rolo doughnut, and Joe picked out a chocolate covered cherry, and one make your own with lemon glaze and graham cracker crumbs.
They were delicious and Jenna even decided to eat about a half of doughnut this time,Jacob on the other hand only had a few bites.
Time for another part to the story of why we went to The FP........
We decided to take a trip to the Fractured Prune, well I think mainly because I wanted to go two weeks ago or so and we didn't get to go. Oh and also Joe is spoiling me a little,I have been feeling a little under the weather. For the last week and a half or so I have been having a lot of dizzy spells. (NO I am NOT pregnant) I finally went to see my Dr. about this on Thursday and she advised me to go to the ER for faster answers and results. So I spent a good part of Thursday afternoon in the Winchester ER,fun right? It turns out what is wrong with me is that right now (temporarily, can't remember the technical name for it) my blood pressure is getting really low and this is causing me to get dizzy. It seems to be the worst when I go from a lying position to a standing position. While at the hospital and doing this my BP dropped 40 points. The good news is that it won't last forever. There's medicine to treat this but they did not give it to me because of the many side effects.Instead I have to make sure I am drinking extra liquids, eating things with salt and not moving too quickly. (Which we all know is so easy with two little ones) If it continues for more than another week I have to go back to the Dr's. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this goes away soon. I still had a little dizziness today but not nearly as bad as the last few days.I know another long story, sorry.
All in all we had a nice road trip and some yummy doughnuts. We are loving the Odyssey.Joe drove it today for our trip and this was really the first time he drove it beside driving me to the hospital yesterday.I think so far my favorite feature is the hands free blue tooth device.I just push a button tell it who to call and it dials. It's so nice to be able to talk and not have to hold my phone the whole time. I also absolutely love my color,I was totally ready for a new color car.Hope everyone has a great weekend.Next up is possibly 100 things about Jamie Fiocca, a post copied from Amy Sweet of The Sweet Family and also Kelly Abel from The Abel Boys, oh and I just noticed that Amy from Watt's Up has also posted. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with 100 things. Until then......
Jacob and Jenna sleeping on the way there.

Tide to Go...Hillarous

So I don't know if everyone seen the hillarous Tide to Go commercials but they are to funny. And for the record those little sticks really do work. Worth every penny in my opinion. Quick story....I was as usual running late to work on day last week and stopped at the Arby's drive thru to grab a bite to eat. I was literally two lights from work and taking my second to the last bite of my favorite sandwich there, the beef n' cheedar (on a regular bun, of course) and plop goes some cheese and sauce onto my light colored khaki pants. Oh crap I say! No time to go home I'm already almost late what the heck am I going to do, I can't look like a slob the whole night at work especially from the moment I walk in the door. It's one thing to have my pants dirty after I've been working a while but to go in with them dirty is just wrong. Then I remembered one day some one at work telling me how great the Tide to go stick works. I had like five or so stains on my pants now. Anyways I bought a stick as soon as I got to work headed to the back and go to making that little pen work. After a few minutes my stains we're all just about gone. I had one that you could bearly see I mean you would have to have been kneeled down standing right in front of me looking at my pants to notice it. Why am I telling you this story because Joe sent me the cutest email tonight and I just have to share it. Here's my Jacob's commercial debut.... I just love it he's too cute! Oh yeah you can enter to win one of a 1,000 prizes daily too. And one last thing I shared my wonderful little story here on their website and you can vote for me : -)

P.S Bloggers spell check is not working so I am sorry about any mistakes I have made.

Yummy,Yummy in my Tummy

This past Sunday while I was at work I came across this Southern Living Cooking School book that at some point during the Holidays Wal-Mart gave away free to customers. I have gotten a couple of these freebies in the past I think the last one I got was over the Summer. Anyways these books have lots of recipes in them from appetizers to entrees to desserts. Usually I just browse through them and then they go in the cupboard with the rest of my recipe books. For most of you who know me pretty well know that I am not much of a cook, I don't usually get real fancy and my baking usually consist of a box of brownie mix. But this time a recipe in this book really caught my eye, and I thought why not this looks easy enough I could make this and they do look extra yummy. So I bought the ingredients that I thought I needed and then I went home. I was a little to tired to do anything that night so the next day Monday I decided I was going to make these yummy Chocolate Chip-Pecan Squares. Oh my gosh these things are so scrumptious and so so easy to make. As a matter of fact they're so easy to make I've made them twice this week. Yep twice, only because I promised one of the other CSM Ruth that when I made them I would bring in some for her to taste cause every time she makes goodies she brings some in for me so I thought it was only fair. When I made them on Monday Ruth was not working for the next two days and by the time Wednesday rolled around well we only had two left and well they would have never made it in to work. So this afternoon (well really yesterday, because of the time now) I made another batch. Only Joe told me if I made them again I had to take them all with me that I could not leave any at home. He really likes them too much and would be tempted to eat them all he,he! So I only left two pieces at home one for him and one for his Mom the rest went with me to work. These little pieces of heaven are so darn good. One more thing I am not usually a real big fan of nuts unless it's a Hershey's bar with almonds. I kinda have a small addiction to these candy bars, I quite frequently eat them for my break at work, I know. I really know how to go off on a tangent I'm sorry but for those of you who like to bake you have to give these little things a try. Oh and have fun...

One more thing before I go what the heck is up with the price of milk? I don't know if anyone else bought milk today or in the last couple of days, but I swear when I bought milk last week it was not as expensive as it was today. Now normally 2% milk is like around $3.59 or so at Wal-Mart and this is Wal-Marts Great Value brand. Maybe even a little less I think I usually pay $3.59 for Jenna's whole milk. Well tonight I paid a wooping $4.27 for a gallon of 2% milk. I could not believe it when the cashier rang it up. She then proceeded to tell me that the customer in front of me bought whole milk and it was over $5.00 for that milk. What is wrong with this picture $5.00 for a gallon of milk? I seriously can't believe this. I really try not to do a whole lot of complaining on our blog but this is ridiculous and I just had to see if anyone else has the same views as me. I will be making a trip to Martin's this weekend to see of their milk also went up. Unless some can tell me it did in fact because they just bought milk there or at Foodlion or any other store besides Wal-Mart. Okay I think I've got it all out now, sorry about that little rant I just had to get it out. But please do tell me if it's just me or is this price increase on milk is CRAZY!

In-N-Out Burger.....Yummy.....

Those of you who have not had the privilege to try the most incredible burger in the world I am so sorry. I LOVE LOVE In-N-Out burger. Of all the things that I miss the most in California besides my family and my friends I would have to say this is it. In-N-Out burger, oh their mouth watering cheeseburgers, french fries oh and I can't forget the ice cream shakes. They only have locations in California of course, parts of Arizona and parts of Nevada like the Vegas and Reno areas.

Why am I talking about these delectable burgers when they are oh so far away? It's because in about a month Joe has a business trip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The kids and I will be tagging along and we will spend a few days in Cali with my parents and then the rest of the time in Vegas. We will be there for about a week. Now normally when we go it's like a four day trip or so. In those four days I usually try and have In-N-Out at least two times. Now that we will be there for an entire week I will get to have it many more times. I've already checked and there are SEVEN locations in the Vegas area, yeah for me! I cannot wait to have one of those juicy cheeseburgers and those delicious hand cut french fries.

So those of you that are not from this area of the country and have not had the opportunity to eat at INO, if you're ever on the west coast please, oh please do not forget to have an In-N-Out burger. I hope I haven't made everyone to terribly hungry :)
