Is It Really Over?

Fall. I can't believe that it has came and went. It really went by way too fast this year. I know that it isn't officially over until December 20th. As the first official day of Winter is December 21st. I am not sure about how the weather has been around the rest of the state or the country for that matter but it sure has been cold here. We have been having flurries already. Last year we didn't see flurries this early. All three days this week when I went to pick up the kids it started flurrying. It's not even Thanksgiving yet. Now don't get me wrong I am actually enjoying the early winter weather. It's just a little weird. Not just two weeks ago we were out in the yard with the kids playing in the leaves. Yes it was a little cool but nothing like these last few days have been.

Well I really can't account too much for the last couple of days as I haven't stepped out of the house too much since yesterday afternoon. My wonderful sinus infection has come back in full force. I am now on my second round of antibiotics. I did not go to work on Thursday because my head felt like it was going to explode at any moment. Instead I stayed in bed most of the night as well of most of the day today. My head is feeling much better, not 100% but better. As a result of staying in bed most of the day I am now not tired when I should be. Go figure.

Enough about me, I would like to share some pics of the kids playing in the leaves in the yard from about two weeks ago. Also this week at preschool Jacob has been learning all about Indians and Thanksgiving. He made a "Indian" necklace, a Indian Headband and a noise maker all at school. One night while at home Nana and the kids also made an Indian Headband, they had quite a bit of fun. With pictures to prove it. I know I am a bit behind on sharing pictures but better late than never, right?

Tired and at a loss for words

There's really not to much going on over, I mean nothing too exciting anyway. I am kind of having a little bit of blogger's block, I think. I guess it could also have something to do with the fact that I am feeling a little tired and weak again, on and off. I had a Dr.'s appointment last week and my BP is still pretty low. I have been checking it on and off while at work and it has been pretty consistently low. On Thursday morning I am going for this test called a Tilt Table Test. It only takes about an hour that is if I last that long without fainting. Hopefully that will not happen and the test will just show, what I already know and that is that my blood pressure drops dramatically when I go from a lying to standing position. What does this mean? It means that apparently I have low blood pressure. In order to not feel light headed and dizzy, I will have to go meds for a while and hopefully it will get me regulated. I am hoping that this is not a permanent thing. I am really getting a little sick of this whole not feeling like myself thing. I HATE being dizzy, I HATE feeling light headed but it's not just my head it's my whole body that feels funny. I am really hoping that this is all better sooner rather than later, cause I really don't want to feel like this on vacation. How horrible would that be? So enough about me and my griping.
Other than me feeling like crap, we had a pretty good weekend. On Friday we had a play date, the kids really enjoyed their time with their friends. As I also enjoy my time visiting with my friends. It's nice to have that time even if it is just once every two weeks. I have no pictures from our play date or anything else we did this weekend. Daddy kind of left the diaper bag in his car and when it finally did end up in the house on Friday night I kind of left with out it on Saturday.
Friday night I had a little get together at our house. I had a Tastefully Simple Party with my neighbor/friend who is a consultant. This was my first experience with TS and I loved it. The food was great and the company of my friends was also great.
Saturday Nana and I and the kids decided to head out for a while. We went to the Dulles Town Center for a little bit, we had lunch and I had a few things to return. After finishing up at the DTC we headed back towards home and stopped at the Leesburg Outlets as I had a few more returns to do there. I also bought the kids a few thing for spring. The Gap was having a great sale lots of stuff was 40% off. The outlets were packed it was like it was Christmas or something. Lines everywhere. The funniest of them all was the Coach store. They are getting ready to move into a bigger store, they open in the new location on May 1st, I believe. From what my MIL and I heard they are trying to get rid of most of their inventory so they don't have to move it ( a whole 10 stores down). There was a line outside of the store, an employee was only letting so many people in at once. One woman my MIL talked to said she waited outside the store for an hour, and then she waited in line inside for another hour and a half. They had all of the merchandise marked down any where from 30%-50% off the lowest marked down price. It sounds pretty good but not worth 3 hours of my time after you factor in time to shop. The weather was great on Saturday, a good day to be out in the nice fresh air.
And of course Sunday brought the ugly rain just about the whole day. It seems as though it has been raining non stop. I had to work of course on Sunday, too. I guess this post tittle isn't really true. I have really rambled on for too long now. Sorry there's no pics of the kids or anything else for that matter. Hopefully this little block won't last for too long and I'll be back on track soon. Hope every one else had a great weekend.

Yummy,Yummy.........

Yes we traveled a little again but for good reason. For these YUMMY doughnuts. This is our third time having these doughnuts. Our first time experiencing these yummy concoction's was last year when we went to Ocean City. They have a lot of locations in Md,and so far only one in Va,and lots more popping up all over the place. The Fractured Prune started in Ocean City you can read all about them at their website. They basically are a doughnut shoppe where you create your own doughnut and they make them. All the doughnuts are always served hot, yummy. In addition to you creating your own doughnuts they have featured flavors, speciality doughnuts they call them. I haven't tried a lot of these but the ones I have tried have been very good. This time I got to pick out four of the six doughnuts. Two were chocolate glazes with rainbow sprinkles (b/c I love this kind of doughnut and just in case the kids decided they wanted some.),One was a French Toast doughnut, one was a Rolo doughnut, and Joe picked out a chocolate covered cherry, and one make your own with lemon glaze and graham cracker crumbs.
They were delicious and Jenna even decided to eat about a half of doughnut this time,Jacob on the other hand only had a few bites.
Time for another part to the story of why we went to The FP........
We decided to take a trip to the Fractured Prune, well I think mainly because I wanted to go two weeks ago or so and we didn't get to go. Oh and also Joe is spoiling me a little,I have been feeling a little under the weather. For the last week and a half or so I have been having a lot of dizzy spells. (NO I am NOT pregnant) I finally went to see my Dr. about this on Thursday and she advised me to go to the ER for faster answers and results. So I spent a good part of Thursday afternoon in the Winchester ER,fun right? It turns out what is wrong with me is that right now (temporarily, can't remember the technical name for it) my blood pressure is getting really low and this is causing me to get dizzy. It seems to be the worst when I go from a lying position to a standing position. While at the hospital and doing this my BP dropped 40 points. The good news is that it won't last forever. There's medicine to treat this but they did not give it to me because of the many side effects.Instead I have to make sure I am drinking extra liquids, eating things with salt and not moving too quickly. (Which we all know is so easy with two little ones) If it continues for more than another week I have to go back to the Dr's. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this goes away soon. I still had a little dizziness today but not nearly as bad as the last few days.I know another long story, sorry.
All in all we had a nice road trip and some yummy doughnuts. We are loving the Odyssey.Joe drove it today for our trip and this was really the first time he drove it beside driving me to the hospital yesterday.I think so far my favorite feature is the hands free blue tooth device.I just push a button tell it who to call and it dials. It's so nice to be able to talk and not have to hold my phone the whole time. I also absolutely love my color,I was totally ready for a new color car.Hope everyone has a great weekend.Next up is possibly 100 things about Jamie Fiocca, a post copied from Amy Sweet of The Sweet Family and also Kelly Abel from The Abel Boys, oh and I just noticed that Amy from Watt's Up has also posted. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with 100 things. Until then......
Jacob and Jenna sleeping on the way there.

It's Official....

Those of you have been around me in the last week and a half know that I have had a horrible cough. It has been uncontrollable at night, taking me an extra hour or so to fall asleep.Anyways I went to the Dr's yesterday and I officially have a sinus infection,Yeah! Can you feel my excitement I really hate sinus infections I get them very often. I am on an antibiotic and she gave me a pill for my cough.I have to say though it amazes me the list of possible side effects. One of the possible side effects for one my pills is burning of the eyes, yep. Another is possible swelling, itching or rash of the skin. Can you imagine do I really need itchy skin again? Does everyone remember this? With any luck I will not suffer any of these possible side effects. The good news is all this coughing that I've been trying to control while around others is not contagious.Keep your fingers crossed for me that these antibiotics start working sooner rather than later. Thanks! Hope everyone has a great weekend. We have a few fun things planned.

A Little Under the Weather

Since Friday evening I have been feeling a little under the weather. Friday wasn't so bad but Saturday morning I woke up with a horrible sore throat. The kids have also come down with colds. Although the kids just seem to have runny noses and a little bit of sneezing. It seems that I have gotten the worst of it, sore throat, sneezing, coughing, and just plain ol' feeling yucky. But enough about that.
Let me Explain....
I am sure a few of you are just a little curious about the not so normal for Jamie quote on my last post. It was best for me to just put a quote that would some what explain how I was feeling. If I would have written a post that night it just would have been completely depressing. And I'm not really sure that, that would have been the best thing for me. The last two weeks have been a little rough when it comes to the things that have been going on at work. In the last two weeks we (Wal-Mart store#1406) have lost two associates. The first one was two weeks ago from today Helen Friddle was a long time associate at my store.Without going into all the gory details it was something everyone knew was coming but still it was hard. It was amazing how many people turned out for her wake and funeral. There was just squeezing by walking room it was truly amazing as she was a wonderful person. Moving on to this past Thursday. It was supposed to be just like any other Thursday. But it was far from that I walked into work swiped my badge and then there it was. Yet another note by the time clock.Only this time it was a complete shock, like something out of left field. I was left speechless. My friend Becky saw me and said "what's wrong Jamie?" Again I was silent for a moment and then I said "Susan Loftin" Becky said what about her? I then said she passed away this morning. Susan had been in remission from Breast Cancer and most recently was having some heart problems.I still don't know exactly what it was but she is gone. The worst part is that it was about a week before this that I had spoken to her.She continued working and she wasn't one to complain about not feeling well. But the last time I saw her she really wasn't feeling well, I know this because this day she did say something. She asked me if she could go home early, I told her to go ahead and go.She called in everyday that she was scheduled for the next week.On last Wednesday she called in and said she was going to have to go on a leave again. The next morning Thursday her daughter called and said she had passed away earlier that morning. Susan was a cashier she was someone that I saw almost everyday that I worked. She was a great person. Like I said earlier not one to complain about anything. She really had the opportunity to complain about a lot but she choose not to.
Why sweat the small stuff? I just have to say with these two passing of these two wonderful women I am seeing things in a new light. I have never really been surrounded by a lot of death in my life. I have lost very few people close to me,and I thank GOD for that everyday.
I have been really thinking about those close to me a lot more than usual lately because of these two passings.I really hate that my parents, grandparents and the rest of my family is so far away from us. I really miss them all terribly.
When I talked to one of my friends on Friday from my old store (Sterling) she had more bad news to give me. One of the CSM's there lost her husband this past week, and a former associate also lost her battle with cancer.
I am sorry that this is such a long and sad post. I just really felt like I needed to put my thoughts down and explain my thinking when I posted that quote. In the beginning of this post I was kind of complaining about feeling yucky. These are the kinds of things that just don't seem right anymore. It doesn't seem right sweating the small stuff. We should be grateful for each day that we have because who knows what tomorrow brings. We should live each day to the fullest and appreciate what we have. Cherish each moment even if it seems small because it could turn out to be something big later on.Again I am sorry for the long post and for being so depressing.I really am doing better just felt like I needed to explain myself. I am also sure that I have repeated myself several times throughout this post and again I am sorry.I hope that everyone else has had a good week thus far.
Other than being a little under the weather the kids are doing great.Got some cute little pics of the kids from the weekend and I'll post them soon.Take Care all......
