Our Jenna....

Seriously where in the world does time go? My BABY has went from.....

June 2006

To this......

May 2009

Just look at that little mischievous look on her face. I cannot believe that three years has gone by. It seems like not that long ago I was pregnant with her. She is such a character. She constantly has Joe and I on our toes. She's full of energy and she is definitely her Mommy's girl. Or at least I am told, when it comes to her personality. She's very opinionated and independent. Most of the time she wants to do what she wants to do and in her own way. She will always let you know if you are doing something different than the way she wants it. Like the whole potty thing. Some days it's all on her own and others it's Mommy you have to watch me, too cute. There's also her little soft girlie side. Yesterday she made it so hard for me to leave for work. She was pleading with me to stay home. "Mommy please don't go to work. Just stay Mommy." It broke my heart. She is also always wanting in on what her brother is doing. When they are getting along they are the cutest things in the world. Just too cute to describe, the way they are so kind to each other. I could go on and on about her and how much she has grown into to her own little person but I won't. Three people, my baby is three.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY JENNA!

We love you baby girl. You make our lives so complete.

With lots and lots of love,

Mommy,Daddy and Jacob

XOXOXO

Totally Slacking....

Okay so I officially feel like a complete slacker. I know that it's been a while since I'd posted but I just hadn't realized how long it had been. That was until I today I was reading a friend's blog and noticed our blog in the sidebar and it said my last post was two weeks ago. Two weeks ago, yuck. I am really not enjoying this cold weather. I am ready for Spring to be here. I will say I did however enjoy the little bit of snow we had today I wish there would have been more. I am okay with it being cold if there's snow to go along with it. The kids have been asking about snow for months now. Or it seems like it's been months.

I kind of feel like I have been in this funk. Still making my rounds for the most part reading every one else's blogs. Just having a hard time sitting down to write a post of my own. We have been fairly busy the last couple of weeks. Just lots of random things going on. Daddy's on a little guys trip. Him and a few of his friends from work headed up to Atlantic City for just today and will be home tomorrow (Tuesday) night.

Jacob and Jenna are both doing good. I think Jenna's got a bit of a cold. Other than that though she's good. Both growing like crazy and keeping me on my toes. Jacob's 5 year well check up is next Monday. I can't wait to see how much he's really grown. We keep track of his growth on one of our walls but to see last year to this year from the Dr. perspective is always fun. Then there's always the whole percentile thing. Hoping he's keeping up like he has been and is still going to be taller than both his Mommy and Daddy. At his last checkup the doc said he'd probably be between 5' 9" and 5'11" that's so much taller than his Mommy.

Enough rambling for now. I promise to update with some pictures shortly. Hope every one's enjoying this Winter of ours. I think I am also ready for spring to be here, because once it's here we are that much closer to our WDW trip. Only 117 Days left!! Woo Hoo!

Is It Really Over?

Fall. I can't believe that it has came and went. It really went by way too fast this year. I know that it isn't officially over until December 20th. As the first official day of Winter is December 21st. I am not sure about how the weather has been around the rest of the state or the country for that matter but it sure has been cold here. We have been having flurries already. Last year we didn't see flurries this early. All three days this week when I went to pick up the kids it started flurrying. It's not even Thanksgiving yet. Now don't get me wrong I am actually enjoying the early winter weather. It's just a little weird. Not just two weeks ago we were out in the yard with the kids playing in the leaves. Yes it was a little cool but nothing like these last few days have been.

Well I really can't account too much for the last couple of days as I haven't stepped out of the house too much since yesterday afternoon. My wonderful sinus infection has come back in full force. I am now on my second round of antibiotics. I did not go to work on Thursday because my head felt like it was going to explode at any moment. Instead I stayed in bed most of the night as well of most of the day today. My head is feeling much better, not 100% but better. As a result of staying in bed most of the day I am now not tired when I should be. Go figure.

Enough about me, I would like to share some pics of the kids playing in the leaves in the yard from about two weeks ago. Also this week at preschool Jacob has been learning all about Indians and Thanksgiving. He made a "Indian" necklace, a Indian Headband and a noise maker all at school. One night while at home Nana and the kids also made an Indian Headband, they had quite a bit of fun. With pictures to prove it. I know I am a bit behind on sharing pictures but better late than never, right?

Meet the Teachers

On their way into school
Today went amazingly well. First we met Jacob's teacher Mrs. Riley. We were really excited that Jacob got her as his teacher. As I said before she came with great recommendation from friend's. She's been teaching at BS Preschool for well over twenty years. She seems like she really loves her job. I am very happy that she's Jacob's teacher and I think that he's really going to like preschool. I also think that he's going to love her class. He walked right into the classroom today and just did his thing. He got a little goodie bag and then Jacob and I got to do a craft together. We traced his hand and then I cut it out and then he got to put it into the envelope with all his other classmates hands. Every day Mrs. Riley will pick a hand out of the envelope and which ever hand she picks that student gets to be the leader for the day. He will have one day every 6 weeks or so that he will have to bring the snack for the day and that day will be his show and tell day. One other thing I am really happy about is when I told Mrs. R that Jacob had therapy for his delayed speech, she was very supportive. She said just to let her know what he was working on in speech and she would work it into Jacob's time in the classroom. This really makes me happy because I want so much for him to be ready for Kindergarten next year. I know that he's not the only one with delayed speech and that there will be others that will have the same issues as him if not worse. I just want him to like school and I don't want him to be discouraged because of his speech. I know that Mrs. Clay is going to do everything she can to have him ready for Kindergarten even if it means going to two days a week instead of the one we've been doing. Oh, the worries of being a parent. I know I will have so many more days full of worry. Regardless of my worry he's still going to grow up and he's going to make us proud I just know it.

Now onto to my Jenna. Jenna's teacher is Mrs. McGeachy, we really like her. Jenna had no problems making herself at home in her classroom. She also took to the teacher's aide Mrs. Denton very well. At one point while I was talking to Mrs. G I looked over and Jenna and she was sitting in Mrs. Denton's lap and she was reading her a book. Jenna is going to be doing a lot of different stuff in her class. They will have music and crafts. She will also have one day that she will also bring snacks for the class. Jacob and Jenna are both already talking about what they want to bring on their snack day. Too cute. I have signed myself up to be a party parent at two of each of the kid's classroom parties. I think Jenna's really going to like interacting with all these other kids her age. Also she will have one familiar face in her class, one of her friend's will be in it. Jacob will also have a friend in his class. So they won't be totally off on their own, not knowing anyone. That also puts me at ease a little bit. In just over a week both of my babies will be at preschool. No really, where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday I was giving birth to my babies.

Just a Few Pictures......Oh and a few words, too!

Just have been hanging out the last couple of days, since John and Alyssa left us on Monday. The kids are really missing their cousins. Every morning they ask for them, it's really cute but also sad at the same time.

On Saturday we went to the movies with all the kids and Nana and we had a great time. One of my favorite things about the movies is the popcorn, but popcorn is just not popcorn without M&M's. I have been enjoying my popcorn at the movies like this since I was about 10 years old. My Aunt Stacey who is just 5 years older than me taught me to eat my popcorn with M&M's. It was when I spent almost an entire Summer with her and my grandparents. If you have not tried M&M's and popcorn you just have to. There's nothing like eating hot popcorn and M&M's. Jacob loves to eat his popcorn this way also at the movies, he's just too cute about it. When we went to the movies on Saturday I shared this yummy combination with John and Alyssa and well they loved it too. So now like my aunt shared this with me I have now shared it with my niece and nephew. Wow! I kind of went off on a tangent, sorry. While we were there we saw a preview for Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa that is due to come out in November. It looks really cute, Jacob really enjoyed the first movie.

On Monday we hit the Hagerstown Outlet Mall, just a quick trip cause I had to go to work that evening. Some of the stores were having really great sales. I was actually quite upset that I don't know or couldn't think of a single person that has a baby girl or that is having one shortly. In the Baby Gap they had a ton of stuff on sale. The guy there said they were clearing out the Summer to get ready for the Fall line. They had baby girl bathing suits on sale for $2.99. I really wanted to buy Jenna another bathing suit especially for that price but she already has enough suits. I just needed to really buy a suit for that price but I didn't since I didn't have anyone to buy for. I was a little disappointed, we ran out of time and I didn't get to go over to the Children's Place outlet and they always have good deals over there. So there it is just a little bit of running around on John and Alyssa's last couple of days with us. I really wish they didn't have to leave so soon the week went by so fast, I miss them too. Hopefully it will be sooner than the last time, when we get to see them again.

Hope everyone is having a good week, oh yeah here's some random pics from the rest of the time the kids were here........................................

Waiting Patiently....

My kids, waiting ever so patiently this morning for their friends to come over for play date. You would have thought it had been forever since they saw their friends. It wasn't though it's only been since last Tuesday the 3rd. They really are just too funny. Jenna even put her shoes on (but she's been doing a lot of that lately) she was ready to go to Johnny's house to play. Jenna also had to put on her new Dora backpack for everyone to see. I kept telling them both it was our turn and everyone was coming to our house to play this time. When they saw the kids starting to walk across the street everything was much better.

Jacob when he feels like it, lately is becoming quite the little poser for pictures. Here's one of him
from this morning, while we were waiting for everyone to come over........
Such a big boy. Everyday I look at the two of them and just wonder where in the world does the time go? They are really growing up too fast. On Wednesday Jacob had his last day of therapy for the school year. We're off for Summer break just like all the other school kids. His teacher/therapist and I were talking about next year. She mentioned that we needed to really make sure early on if one day was going to be enough to have him ready for school. Yikes, I really didn't want to have to think about him starting school already. It is after all a whole other year away. I do however want him to be ready of course. I am hoping that along with his continued therapy and the fact that we are sending to preschool in the Fall, these will both ensure that he is ready for Kindergarten. For those of you who are not aware Jacob goes to speech therapy once a week for his speech delay. He has really progress significantly since he started right before his third birthday. He's really excited about starting preschool in the Fall. He keeps asking me if it's time to go his new school yet. The funniest thing is what he remembers about his new school. When him and I went on our tour of the school one of the 4 year old classes was having a pajama day. All the kids were in their pj's and had brought their blankets to school with them and that's what he keeps asking about. When is he going to get to have a pajama day and get to wear his pj's to school? He cracks me up.

Did I mention that we are currently under construction in Jacob's room? We are in the process of painting, etc. his room, we are making it a fish room. We all know how much he loves fish. As soon as it's all done I will post some pics. We got him this really cute light at Ikea for his new room and also a big boy bed, no more toddler bed.

Just sharing one more pic of Jenna with her cute little shirt I got her at The Gap Outlet. It was perfect for her to wear it today for our play date. In case you can't read it, it says " I Love Play Time." She is pointing to the "L" because it's lellow (yellow). Okay so I've rambled on for long enough, I think I 'm off to bed now. Hope everyone has a great weekend......

And we made it.....Finally

We are here and having a fabulous time, so much so that this is really the first time I've been on the laptop since we got here. We got in on Sunday at about five minutes til midnight. By the time we got our bags, and got our rental car we arrived at the resort just after 1:00 a.m. In bed by 2:00a.m and up at 5:45am for our first adventure. We have had two early mornings since we got here for planned activities and we all know that I'm not very good with early mornings. But getting up early has proven to be worth it. I can not wait to post some of our pics from our adventures thus far and plan to soon.

For the record I don't think our kids miss us, like we miss them. Today (Tuesday) Joe called to talk to them and Jenna refused, she was more interested in watching another little girl. Jacob on the other hand did say "Hi Dada!" and then was back to learning how to do Karate of some sort at our mall. So not really missing us. Which I guess I am actually okay with because I don't want them to missing us so horribly that they're not listening to Nana.

Hope that everyone is having a wonderful week, thus far and I will be back soon hopefully with pics in my next post. Also this post is actually being done at 9:00p.m. Hawaii time, not the 3:00a.m that it says : )

*Just tried to upload a pic, and I believe Blogger is having issues*

and relax......

I feel like I have been busy since the moment I woke up this morning. One of our neighbors organized a neighborhood yard sale and it's next Saturday, April 12th. After breakfast I went down to the basement for a bit and got a few things together. Then it was out to the garage and that's where I spent most of the day. Reorganizing the boxes and boxes of stuff I plan to sell on Saturday. Came in for lunch, sat on the couch for maybe 20 minutes and then back out to the garage again. I am hopeful that it'll all be worth it.

Let's see chatted with one of the neighbors for a bit and then we ran out so Joe could do a couple of returns. Went through the drive thru for a bite to eat, came home ate and then Joe was out the door. Joe went to his monthly poker game at a friend's neighbor's in Leesburg. It has been non-stop since he left. A little of this and a little of that with the kids. Finally finished the last little things I had to do in the garage. Then it was shower time and now finally I am sitting on the couch trying to relax. Both kids are finally asleep. I am relaxing now for a little bit before I head to bed since I have to work tomorrow, yuck!

The weather was beautiful today, I can only keep my fingers crossed that we continue to have good weather. Like I said before I am so ready for nice weather to be here and stay for a while. Hope everyone has a good weekend........................

April here already and the current temp here is 72 degrees. However it's overcast and there is a chance of rain, but 72 people. I hope that the weather continues to get better, Yeah April!
Has anyone noticed that there's only 39 days left until Joe and I leave for Hawaii? We couldn't be more excited. We can hardly wait. I really don't think it's so much that we're going to Hawaii, now don't get me wrong we're totally pumped about where we're going. But I mostly think it's just the whole idea that we are going on a VACATION!

A Little of This and A Little of That...

Where to start....Why ME of course just kidding. I am going to start with me. I haven't got my hair cut since, well Halloween. I had this women who cut my hair for about two years or so and then one day came into my work to let me know she was moving.....TO MICHIGAN. What is a girl to do? Well I decided to try someone else at the salon. To put it simply I was not impressed with her as she did not listen to me when I said "I want my hair trimmed and cut straight across the back." I really did not think that this was a difficult request but apparently it was. Because I ended up with a scoop in the back? So needless to say I did not go back to her or that salon since. Then a week or so ago I read a post on Watt's Up's Blog about a not so good experience with her new stylist. She decided she needed to get another new stylist. This inspired me to not be so afraid of trying to find some one new, also.Thank you,Amy! Last Friday I decided it was time,I mean it's been four months. Before this whole episode happened I was a person who got her hair trimmed every six to eight weeks. I was in Sterling for another appointment and decided to try a different place in the mall there. A wonderful Chinese man cut my hair, and I am happy to say I am very pleased. So much in fact I think I will even return in about eight weeks, right before our trip : ) He actually listened to me like my old lady use to. He then showed me in the mirror and said now if you want it straight across the back you're going to lose this much hair are you okay with that? I said if that's what it's going to take to fix my hair then yes,and that's exactly what he did.Yeah for me! I plan to have Joe take a picture at some point so you all can see my results. Okay I think I've talked about me enough.

Now onto the kids.........
This past weekend we went to Tyson's Corner Mall and mostly just walked around and window shopped. I did however have to hit one of my favorite stores there Sephora. I needed to pick up a few things I was out of. My MIL needed to buy some shoes so that's mainly why we went to that mall. Anyways we let the kids play in the play area there, they absolutely LOVE it!
So much so that neither one of them wanted to leave and they especially didn't want to leave when I said it was dinner time. We left and Jacob ate like a champion showing us that he worked up an appetite playing and jumping. And well Jenna, she protested having to leave and really didn't eat much anything that I put in front of her. After we ate dinner,I almost forgot I promised Daddy and Jacob that we would get Jacob's hair cut.It was then off to Cartoon Cuts in the mall there.

Jacob did great as he has been doing great with hair cuts now for quite some time. For those of you who don't know this but we went through a huge stage of absolute refusal of getting his hair cut. Yes, he was one of those kids.Joe and I hated it but he had to have his hair cut. But we're done with that now and we love him back to Jacob getting his hair cut. His hair looks so handsome now.Everyday he really amazes me how much bigger and older he is looking and acting. Jenna is really starting to sprout up too. This past week everyday I look at her and she just looks like such a big two year old. And just think she's only three months away from being TWO!
I know this was just a little randomness and kind of all over the place but just wanted to do a quick little update. I know it wasn't really quick I'm not very good at that. Here's some pics of Jacob my little jumper,he loves jumping on these blocks....... oh and p.s. yes it was crazy busy in the play area and hot too. Hope everyone has a great weekend, hopefully it won't be too cold.

A Little Under the Weather

Since Friday evening I have been feeling a little under the weather. Friday wasn't so bad but Saturday morning I woke up with a horrible sore throat. The kids have also come down with colds. Although the kids just seem to have runny noses and a little bit of sneezing. It seems that I have gotten the worst of it, sore throat, sneezing, coughing, and just plain ol' feeling yucky. But enough about that.
Let me Explain....
I am sure a few of you are just a little curious about the not so normal for Jamie quote on my last post. It was best for me to just put a quote that would some what explain how I was feeling. If I would have written a post that night it just would have been completely depressing. And I'm not really sure that, that would have been the best thing for me. The last two weeks have been a little rough when it comes to the things that have been going on at work. In the last two weeks we (Wal-Mart store#1406) have lost two associates. The first one was two weeks ago from today Helen Friddle was a long time associate at my store.Without going into all the gory details it was something everyone knew was coming but still it was hard. It was amazing how many people turned out for her wake and funeral. There was just squeezing by walking room it was truly amazing as she was a wonderful person. Moving on to this past Thursday. It was supposed to be just like any other Thursday. But it was far from that I walked into work swiped my badge and then there it was. Yet another note by the time clock.Only this time it was a complete shock, like something out of left field. I was left speechless. My friend Becky saw me and said "what's wrong Jamie?" Again I was silent for a moment and then I said "Susan Loftin" Becky said what about her? I then said she passed away this morning. Susan had been in remission from Breast Cancer and most recently was having some heart problems.I still don't know exactly what it was but she is gone. The worst part is that it was about a week before this that I had spoken to her.She continued working and she wasn't one to complain about not feeling well. But the last time I saw her she really wasn't feeling well, I know this because this day she did say something. She asked me if she could go home early, I told her to go ahead and go.She called in everyday that she was scheduled for the next week.On last Wednesday she called in and said she was going to have to go on a leave again. The next morning Thursday her daughter called and said she had passed away earlier that morning. Susan was a cashier she was someone that I saw almost everyday that I worked. She was a great person. Like I said earlier not one to complain about anything. She really had the opportunity to complain about a lot but she choose not to.
Why sweat the small stuff? I just have to say with these two passing of these two wonderful women I am seeing things in a new light. I have never really been surrounded by a lot of death in my life. I have lost very few people close to me,and I thank GOD for that everyday.
I have been really thinking about those close to me a lot more than usual lately because of these two passings.I really hate that my parents, grandparents and the rest of my family is so far away from us. I really miss them all terribly.
When I talked to one of my friends on Friday from my old store (Sterling) she had more bad news to give me. One of the CSM's there lost her husband this past week, and a former associate also lost her battle with cancer.
I am sorry that this is such a long and sad post. I just really felt like I needed to put my thoughts down and explain my thinking when I posted that quote. In the beginning of this post I was kind of complaining about feeling yucky. These are the kinds of things that just don't seem right anymore. It doesn't seem right sweating the small stuff. We should be grateful for each day that we have because who knows what tomorrow brings. We should live each day to the fullest and appreciate what we have. Cherish each moment even if it seems small because it could turn out to be something big later on.Again I am sorry for the long post and for being so depressing.I really am doing better just felt like I needed to explain myself. I am also sure that I have repeated myself several times throughout this post and again I am sorry.I hope that everyone else has had a good week thus far.
Other than being a little under the weather the kids are doing great.Got some cute little pics of the kids from the weekend and I'll post them soon.Take Care all......

Can I say I told you so?

Did I not say that it would snow since I returned the kids snow suits. Joe said that this is my fault I did it to myself. I just had to go and talk about it so now it's happened. I know that the snow didn't really amount to much but it did snow. What about this crap of weather they're calling for this weekend? A wintry mix both Friday and Saturday, lovely my two days off. I think perhaps it's only going to get worse. What do you think? Where's spring? I am really ready for 70 degree weather. How about you all?

I went to work a little early today because I had a CSM meeting. Work was very slow tonight not a whole lot of people out shopping in this yucky weather. I also left a little early tonight and the roads weren't too terribly bad. The Wal-Mart parking lot however was horrible, very very icy. I had to walk very slow and take baby steps to insure I did not fall. Then when I got to my car I had to yank on the door I don't know how many times because it was stuck shut by a nice layer of ice, fun! I hope every one else is doing what they can to not have to be out in this ugly weather.
Sorry I am kind of all over the place tonight, just some random rantings from Jamie........

Stay safe!

So I've been tagged by my friend and neighbor Melis B...I'm not to sure how I'm going to do with this but I am going to try, because this should be so much fun but I am not sure which one to go with?
I think I've decided to go with two of them well because I don't know how exciting one will be.First I'll start with 5 Places on my "want to see or want to see again" list,in no particular order.....
1. Disney World with Jacob and Jenna, Joe and I have been 3 times but the last time was in 2003 when I was about 4 months pregnant with Jacob.
2. On another cruise, I don't really care where to just somewhere warm. I'd also like to bring the kids along this time as Joe and I have been on two childless cruises. With the last one being in 2004 for our 5 year wedding anniversary when Jacob was 9 months old. (This was my first time away from him,boy was that hard but that story will have to wait til another day.)
3. Hawaii, With a stop on every island. Joe and I spent a week there for our Honeymoon but we really only got to see Kona. We loved it and have been talking about going back ever since we left.
4.Bora,Bora Tahiti do I really need to say more about this beautiful place. Never been there but having been dreaming of Joe and I going there ever since I discovered this awesome little place. I want to stay in one those cool little bungalows over the water. Looks like paradise doesn't it?

5. Back to Germany and to be able to see other parts of Europe. Joe and I went to Germany back in 2002 for business for Joe's then job. We were in Germany for 2 weeks and we got to see a lot of different cities there. Lots of beautiful countryside , but it would have been nice to stay longer in some of the cities. I would have loved to go to Belgium with Joe but I had to go back to work and he stayed there for another week. I would have also liked to see Paris because we really weren't that far away but with this being a business trip Joe's free time was very limited. We still had a really good time and got to see a lot of really cool stuff.
I'm including this pic from our Germany trip because it's one of Joe's favorites of me:)
Okay now onto 5 random/weird facts about myself......
1.I am slightly obsessed with socks I have at least one pair for every Holiday but Christmas is by far the worst. While putting away my Christmas socks this year I decided to count them including the ones I received for gifts this year and the ones I bought after Christmas on sale I have a grand total of 30 pairs. I know!
2. I also have another small obsession with Coach purses. In the last month I have acquired two more to add to my collection one that I purchased at the Coach Outlet in Hagerstown, Md and one that Joe bought me for Christmas:)
3.I love to eat Steak, Fillet Mignon is my favorite of course and up until about two years ago I ate all my steaks well done but now I eat them medium well much, much yummier. I would also eat a steak everyday if I could.
4.I have four scars from four different sets of stitches. One from my appendectomy surgery, I was 10 or 11 when I had to have my appendix removed. Second scar is from a skateboard accident when I was nine this ones on my chin. Third one is also on my chin and is from a bike accident when I was about ten. The last and final scar is yet again on my chin and is from another skateboarding accident when I was thirteen. Yes, I was told after the first skateboarding accident to NEVER step foot on a skateboard but obviously I did not listen to my mother. Sorry Mom!
5. I love the soap opera Days of Our Lives. I have literally been watching this soap opera for as long as I can remember even as a young child I watched it with my mom. I didn't start watching it daily until I was in high school but I have been pretty much watching it everyday since then. If I can't watch it live I used to tape it on the VCR but now I record it on our Dish Network PVR. Over the last few years it has had some really strange story lines but I can't seem to let go. It has been a part of my life for so long, I know a little weird but that's what I'm supposed to be doing right?
Okay and now for the saddest part of this post...Tagging my friends well guess what? All of my friends that have BLOGs have already been tagged or tagged me. Thanks Melis B! All the rest of my friends have not jumped on the BLOG band wagon just yet. It was fun thanks, hope everyone enjoys and learned a little something new about me.
P.S I am having a bit of a problem with the paragraphs when I publish this post so I am sorry about the paragraphs running together.
