Get Ready!

Believe it or not I am actually in the process of trying to put some of the pictures from our WDW trip together to share with you all. I know it's only almost a month after our trip but as most of you know it's been a very busy month for us. Until the pictures are here, how about some updates.....

My Jenna....

As you know she is officially three. We had her three year check up this past Monday and she is growing quite well. Are you ready for this? My little peanut is FINALLY on the chart for her weight. I could hardly believe it myself. Her entire life she has been in the -3% for her weight. On Monday June 8th she officially hit the positive side of the scale. She weighs 25.9lbs and is in the 3%. WooHoo! I couldn't be happier. She gained 4 lbs from last year. She is now a tall 35 inches. She has grown quite a bit since last year almost as much as she's gained. She grew about 3 and 1/2 inches. Much more than I thought. She had her vision test and she passed with flying colors. I had questioned the vision test because I didn't remember Jacob having to do it. The nurse said they always try but most three year olds cannot do the test. That made me very happy that Jenna did it and passed. For now she does not have my horrible vision. Thank goodness. She continues to keep me on my toes, and amazes me on a daily basis.

My Jacob....

He is officially a Kindergartner. We had his last day of school/therapy on Thursday. It was an emotional day for me. Not only does it mean he is going to Kindergarten but we also had to say goodbye to a very special lady. Mrs Clay his speech therapist, he has been seeing her since just before he turned three. For the past two and a half years we have seen her at least once a week. She has made a tremendous impact on our Jacob. Because of her Jacob's speech has made leaps and bounds. I cannot even tell you how much he has progressed. Most of you know where we were at when we started and how much Jacob has changed. Like I said it was a hard day for Mommy. Not so much for Jacob. We promised we would stop by and see her at her new school, once we get settled in at his new school. Not much else going on with my Jacob. He is starting T-Ball soon. We were supposed to have his first practice on Thursday but they cancelled it because of the weather, we are now rescheduled for Tuesday. Jacob is really excited about getting to play Baseball, like his cousin John.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Summer so far. Can't wait for the rain to go away so we can have some fun with kids outside. It seems that the rain may have followed us home from Florida, sorry. I am almost half way done uploading our pictures to One True Media. Next up pictures.......

My Growing Boy

On Monday Jacob had his five year well check up. I knew that he had grown over the last year but I just I didn't realize how much. He now stands a tall 43 and 3/4 inches. That is the 51st percentile. Last year at his well check up he was exactly 40 inches tall. He also gained just over 4lbs he went from 38lbs to 42.4lbs. This is the 73rd percentile. I just can't get over how much he is growing and what a big boy he is becoming. He really is five now. Lately he's on this homework kick, which is very good. I just hope he always loves his homework like he does now. I bought him a little workbook at the dollar tree to help him practice his writing. He finished the book in less than one day. He started it and did not want to stop until he was finished with it. That's exactly what he did too. A few days this week he wanted to do nothing other than color his homework. Really it was just a coloring book we had bought him for Christmas. I've bought him another workbook from work this time and it's a pretty big one. It covers so much more in it and he cannot wait to start it. Like I said I just hope he continues to love doing his homework.

On another note we are also excited that he is almost 44 inches as this means there will be that many more rides he will be able to ride at WDW. When he was measured at the Dr's, that was with no shoes. Certainly with shoes and even if he doesn't grow from now until May he will definitely be 44 inches. I am sure he will do some more growing between now and May. There's a few rides that Daddy cannot wait to take him on, now that we know he's tall enough.
I know that I've said this many times before, but boy does time fly. I honestly don't know where the month of January went to. I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of February already.

Test and What nots

Where should I start? I guess I'll try and make a long story short in regards to my test I had last week. As we all know I am not very good at making stories short, so I promise I'll try. For the most part things went well, as well as they can for this kind of test. I have to say though it was really not fun at all. Unless of course you are the kind of person that likes to have absolutely no control of how your body's feeling. It was horrible, I didn't pass out but I came very close to it. I could feel everything around me turning black (and my eyes were closed), my whole body was numb all of a sudden, my ears were suddenly plugged and making these weird noises, it was hard to breath and I felt like I was going to fall. Really if you're not getting the picture it definitely was not pleasant at all. The tilting part of the test could have lasted up to an hour depending on how long I "lasted," I only lasted about 15 minutes or so. I don't have any results yet, but on Wednesday I go to see my regular Dr. and she should have my results. Hopefully then I will know something.

On a lighter note we had a great weekend, enjoyed the beautiful weather that we had on both Friday and Saturday. Friday I did however have Jacob to the Dr.s because of his allergies, they have been acting up a little because of the nice weather. After the Dr's we went to the mall for lunch then hit a couple of stores I needed to go to, got Jacob's hair cut, then we headed for home. Soon after we got home Daddy came home and then we headed back out and went to Fun Expedition as promised to Jacob. He loves their little bowling there and all the other games too.

Jacob's hair cut looks so cute, he's such a little big boy now. I will post some pics soon but I think Joe did something to the lap top and I cannot access my pics on the pc for some reason right now. Therefore I cannot upload any of them, either.
My Jenna in case I haven't said it lately she really is going to be trouble for me I can just feel it. On Saturday morning I was lying in bed dreading getting out of bed and here comes Jenna. "Here Momma" she says as she hands me my glasses, my glasses that I have to wear when I don't have my contacts in, glasses. Only it wasn't the whole pair of my glasses, they were missing one arm. So yeah, my glasses are broken and my little princess broke them. That's not the best part. When I asked Jenna why she broke my glasses she said "Me wanted to Momma!" You see Jacob says this quite often when we are pretending and we take his bad guy mask off. We ask him why he did it (this all comes from his love of Scooby Doo and the bad guys) and he always responds with "Cause I wanted to." We really have to watch what we say around Jenna because she really is a copy cat.

I did not enjoy this rain at all this weekend. Hopefully this week we'll have some better weather. At least maybe towards the end of week and for the weekend it is Apple Blossom Week after all.
Have Fun!

Oh and let's not forget, look at the counter we're down to 13 days now. Woo Hoo!

Tired and at a loss for words

There's really not to much going on over, I mean nothing too exciting anyway. I am kind of having a little bit of blogger's block, I think. I guess it could also have something to do with the fact that I am feeling a little tired and weak again, on and off. I had a Dr.'s appointment last week and my BP is still pretty low. I have been checking it on and off while at work and it has been pretty consistently low. On Thursday morning I am going for this test called a Tilt Table Test. It only takes about an hour that is if I last that long without fainting. Hopefully that will not happen and the test will just show, what I already know and that is that my blood pressure drops dramatically when I go from a lying to standing position. What does this mean? It means that apparently I have low blood pressure. In order to not feel light headed and dizzy, I will have to go meds for a while and hopefully it will get me regulated. I am hoping that this is not a permanent thing. I am really getting a little sick of this whole not feeling like myself thing. I HATE being dizzy, I HATE feeling light headed but it's not just my head it's my whole body that feels funny. I am really hoping that this is all better sooner rather than later, cause I really don't want to feel like this on vacation. How horrible would that be? So enough about me and my griping.
Other than me feeling like crap, we had a pretty good weekend. On Friday we had a play date, the kids really enjoyed their time with their friends. As I also enjoy my time visiting with my friends. It's nice to have that time even if it is just once every two weeks. I have no pictures from our play date or anything else we did this weekend. Daddy kind of left the diaper bag in his car and when it finally did end up in the house on Friday night I kind of left with out it on Saturday.
Friday night I had a little get together at our house. I had a Tastefully Simple Party with my neighbor/friend who is a consultant. This was my first experience with TS and I loved it. The food was great and the company of my friends was also great.
Saturday Nana and I and the kids decided to head out for a while. We went to the Dulles Town Center for a little bit, we had lunch and I had a few things to return. After finishing up at the DTC we headed back towards home and stopped at the Leesburg Outlets as I had a few more returns to do there. I also bought the kids a few thing for spring. The Gap was having a great sale lots of stuff was 40% off. The outlets were packed it was like it was Christmas or something. Lines everywhere. The funniest of them all was the Coach store. They are getting ready to move into a bigger store, they open in the new location on May 1st, I believe. From what my MIL and I heard they are trying to get rid of most of their inventory so they don't have to move it ( a whole 10 stores down). There was a line outside of the store, an employee was only letting so many people in at once. One woman my MIL talked to said she waited outside the store for an hour, and then she waited in line inside for another hour and a half. They had all of the merchandise marked down any where from 30%-50% off the lowest marked down price. It sounds pretty good but not worth 3 hours of my time after you factor in time to shop. The weather was great on Saturday, a good day to be out in the nice fresh air.
And of course Sunday brought the ugly rain just about the whole day. It seems as though it has been raining non stop. I had to work of course on Sunday, too. I guess this post tittle isn't really true. I have really rambled on for too long now. Sorry there's no pics of the kids or anything else for that matter. Hopefully this little block won't last for too long and I'll be back on track soon. Hope every one else had a great weekend.

My Big Boy Four Year Old

My baby/big boy had his 4 year check up today. We were much more prepared this year than we were at his 3 year appointment. It was like night and day between the two appointments. For a while I had been talking about how we would be going to the doctor's soon because Jacob was now a big boy four year old. He was pretty much okay with it that is until today when I realized he would have to have shots. The last shot he had was in the December and it was his Flu shot.He really didn't like it as it was his first shot in the arm.We didn't really prepare him for it we had went in for Jenna's 18month appt and the doctor asked if we wanted to have him get his Flu shot also. Today in the car I had him all ready for this doctor's visit. We talked about all the things the doctor and nurse would be doing.Checking his weight, height, his heart, his blood pressure (he really hated this last year:(),his ears, nose, etc. oh and we did talk about the possiblity of maybe getting shots. That conversation went something like this.
Jacob: Me get shots?
Mommy: Maybe Baby, there's a real good chance you're gonna have to get shots.
Jacob: uh, me no want shots.
Mommy: I know honey but we have to get shots so we don't get sick. They help prevent us from getting sick. They're good for us even though they hurt for a little bit.It will be okay Mommy will sit with you when you get them.
Jacob: Mama, me no love shots.
Mommy: I know honey, but it will be okay.
Jacob: uh, okay Mama.
It was the cutest, I really love when he says that he loves something, or doesn't love something. My baby is becoming such a big boy. So now for the stats.............
Weight: 38.2 lbs- 75%
Height: 40 inches-50%
The doc says if he keeps growing at this rate he will be about 5"10' definitely taller than his Mommy and Daddy. I can't even imagine my baby boy being taller than me. Time goes by at a blink of an eye,and our kids are growing up too fast.I can only treasure each and every moment that I have with my two babies and every moment that we have together as a family Mommy,Daddy,Jacob, and Jenna. There I go again going off on a tangant,Sorry.

We had a fairly uneventful weekend. We went out to dinner with the kids on Friday and then ran to a few stores Mommy needed to go to. Saturday, wow myself and Joe were talking earlier today and we both don't really remember what we did exactally. I think we went to Costco, and Martin's for a few things. Oh and I did run in a few stores to do a couple of returns. Work on Sunday and that's about it. See uneventful....
Today however along with the doc appointment we were pretty busy.We had our play date this am.The kids really had fun. Then it was into the car and off to the airport to pick up Nana.We then had lunch at Mc Donald's (well the kids did). Then across the parking lot to Jacob's dr appointment.Okay so I am going to go off on another tangant again, sorry.
You know how a couple of weeks ago or maybe it was couple of posts I go I was complaing about the price of milk, well it has since went down but now I'm irrtated about something else. I don't know if every one read my comments to that post but Kelly pointed out that she thinks that some things are more expensive out her because there's no competition. I think I'm more convinced than ever now. I needed gas today while we were in Ashburn and guess what? Our gas here in town is anywhere from $2.95 to $2.99 a gallon. And in Ashburn it's an average of $2.84 but I got gas for $2.79 today. I could not believe that there was such a huge price difference in gas from there to here.So there you are, What do you think about this whole gas thing?
