Jacob Michael Fiocca is 5!

At this moment 5 years ago, my baby boy was born. Jacob, I cannot believe you are five already. You have made Daddy and I so proud to be your parents. You are such a kind hearted, but strong willed little boy. Everyday is such and adventure with you. You are our protector, I love that you are always looking out for what's best for for Mommy, Daddy and your little sister Jenna. We love you Jacob.

Catching Up!

It feels like it has been so long since my last post. We have been very busy. Our computer is temporarily (hopefully) broken. Joe is in the process of trying to fix it. For now I am using his laptop. This means no pics, at least for now. The computer and laptop are connected so I usually just get the pics that way but for some reason the laptop did not receive the last little bit pics we uploaded to the computer.

One week ago Saturday (the 13th) we had Jacob's birthday party. It went pretty good considering we had 11 kids at our house. Not to much drama considering. Jacob had a great time and that's really what matters right? We also went to a friend's Christmas party that evening. There was some nice Mommy and Daddy time with other adults. The day before that on Friday we had our family pictures taken and we also visited with Santa. That also went really good. We ended up with some great pictures from both sittings.

This past week Jenna had here Christmas party on Tuesday and then we had Jacob's on Wednesday. Both were great parties. Jacob's could have been a lot worse though. Two of the party parents were no shows. Myself and another mom who were just there did our part to help as much as we could. All in all it was fun. Thursday was the kids last day of school and they had their Christmas Program that day also. It was really cute and I can't wait to share pictures.

I did a whole lot of baking this past week more than I have ever done. A good part of which I did into the wee hours of the night. I had to bake for Jenna's party, Daddy's party and then I baked some stuff for the girls at work, and then of course I had to have some for at home.

On Friday we left really early in the a.m. and headed up to New York for a very short trip. It snowed, hailed, sleeted, and all that good stuff most of the way up. The drive was a little longer because of the weather, but we still got there at a decent time. Spent all day Friday and most of the day Saturday there leaving the city in the early evening and getting home @ midnight again because of weather and traffic. We all had a great time even with the freezing cold weather. Cannot wait to share pictures from that either.

Jacob and Jenna have both had a bit of colds on and off also. Along with their colds has been a good amount of coughing. With this we ended up with some lovely throwing up episodes. My poor babies. But we seemed to be passed that hopefully, just a little leftover snot.

So there you have it our last week in half. I will share some pics just as soon as I can. Hope everyone else is having a fun, and safe holiday season. Christmas is just two short days away. Are you ready?

Still Here.

I am still here. We've been kind of busy this past week. Joe's sister and her husband and our niece Alyssa, nephew John and Andy's son Andrew came to our house for Thanksgiving. We had a full house for Thanksgiving for the first time in I don't know how long. We had a great few days for their visit. The kids absolutely had the best time with all of our visitors. We hated to see them go.

As for the rest of this week I have been busy trying to get some Christmas shopping done. Just about done with the kids. Getting last minute things for Jacob's birthday party. I can' believe my baby is going to be 5 years old. I know I've said this before but man time does sure fly by. It seems like not that long ago I was pregnant with Jacob and here it is 5 years later. Tomorrow we are going to head down to The Dulles Town Center to see Santa and have our family picture taken. The kids are so excited this year they can't wait to tell Santa what they want. Keeps your fingers crossed for us that we get some decent pictures. Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday Season.

Is It Really Over?

Fall. I can't believe that it has came and went. It really went by way too fast this year. I know that it isn't officially over until December 20th. As the first official day of Winter is December 21st. I am not sure about how the weather has been around the rest of the state or the country for that matter but it sure has been cold here. We have been having flurries already. Last year we didn't see flurries this early. All three days this week when I went to pick up the kids it started flurrying. It's not even Thanksgiving yet. Now don't get me wrong I am actually enjoying the early winter weather. It's just a little weird. Not just two weeks ago we were out in the yard with the kids playing in the leaves. Yes it was a little cool but nothing like these last few days have been.

Well I really can't account too much for the last couple of days as I haven't stepped out of the house too much since yesterday afternoon. My wonderful sinus infection has come back in full force. I am now on my second round of antibiotics. I did not go to work on Thursday because my head felt like it was going to explode at any moment. Instead I stayed in bed most of the night as well of most of the day today. My head is feeling much better, not 100% but better. As a result of staying in bed most of the day I am now not tired when I should be. Go figure.

Enough about me, I would like to share some pics of the kids playing in the leaves in the yard from about two weeks ago. Also this week at preschool Jacob has been learning all about Indians and Thanksgiving. He made a "Indian" necklace, a Indian Headband and a noise maker all at school. One night while at home Nana and the kids also made an Indian Headband, they had quite a bit of fun. With pictures to prove it. I know I am a bit behind on sharing pictures but better late than never, right?

In This Box

On this box that Joe found on our porch sometime last week, was a shipping label with my name on it. It came from Branchburg, New Jersey. I was not expecting anything in the mail, I had not ordered anything online for sometime. Upon opening the box I discovered that I actually WON this stuff. Then after thinking about it for a bit I remembered entering some sort of online giveaway. I think it was on Lucky Magazine's website for Lucky Breaks Giveaways. I don't really try and win too many things cause I'm not really very lucky. Every once and a while I click on the link to Lucky Breaks on Kelly's Blog. Thanks Kelly! So here's what I won:

In the box from Aloe Creme Laboratories was a letter stating I was one of 136 lucky winners and the following products....

(2) AloSun Restorative Gel Creme

(2) AloSun AfterTan Original Tube

(1) AloSun Fragrance Free AfterTan

(2) AloSun Lemon Lights

(2) AloSun Citrus Soleil Shampoo

(2) AloSun Citrus Soleil Hair Mask

(1) AloSun Organic Body Oil

(2) AloSun Swimsuit Saver Shampoo

(2) AloSun Cooling Mist Spray

(1) Curederma Eye Correct

(1) Clearderma Cleanser

Retail Value: $154.00 While I cannot use most of these products at this time of the year, I am sure I will enjoy using them next year. I cannot wait.

I am currently having a small problem with my spacing on blogger. So if this post looks totally wacky I am sorry. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I am not really sure if I am ready for it to be this cold. They are calling for snow flurries, already? It's not even Thanksgiving yet. I definitely want more of a winter than we had last year that's for sure. Time will only tell.

Too Cute!

First let me set the scene before I tell you about the cutest conversation I had with Jasmine. You remember her, the little girl my son can't stop talking about. Last week Jacob had another field trip this time we went to The Library, we walked from his preschool. It was so cute walking with all the kids. Such a talkative little bunch. After story time was over, we all headed back down the stairs to head back to school. We were walking out the door and this is when the following conversation took place.

Jacob: Mommy look there's Jasmine.

Mommy: Yes, Jacob I see her.

Mommy: Hi Jasmine!

Jasmine: Hi! (pauses) Do you know what?

Mommy: What Jasmine?

Jasmine: I like your son. ( With the cutest little shy smile on her face)

Mommy: Well you know what Jasmine, Jacob likes you too.

Jasmine: He's so nice to me. He plays with me and he chases me on the playground. (Again with a huge smile on her face.)

Mommy: Bye, Jasmine!

Then it was time for us to join the rest of his class to start our walk back. How terribly cute was that? Of course this made Jacob so very happy. I have been wanting to share this story since this conversation took place. We've just been a little busy this past week.

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words. We appreciate them more than you know.

More stories and some pics from the past week to come soon. I have lots of catching up to do. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
